Consumers are Spending More Time on Social Media Than EVER Before [VIDEO]

by Cara McGinnis • July 01, 2015

A Cowen and Company poll of U.S. adults found that users across all age groups spend an average of 42.1 minutes per day on Facebook, with 18-29 year-olds dedicating 51 minutes of their time to Mark Zuckerberg’s platform. This is compared to 2010 when we were using social media for 22 minutes a day.

Times are shifting and brands need to adapt or frankly.....die! I know that sounds very harsh, but it's the reality we are living in. Technology is moving at faster rates than ever before and we are at a generational gap that could affect how our kids and our grandparents connect. With everyone's head down, glued to their phone, most likely perusing social media, brands need to wake up and implement a social media strategy as it's not going anywhere.

The fact is that people are going to talk about your brand on social media whether you like it or not, so wouldn't’t you rather be a part of the conversation?  Consumers, business people, companies, and employees all use social media. But it’s time to forget the classifications—these are people. Around 80 percent of all people 18-49 use social networking sites. The trend is social, period. (Forbes)

Giving up on social media is a recipe for disaster. We promise that social media will help drive your brand to your target audience, but it's about having a social strategy and more importantly, a budget in place to help you get where you want to go.
